DOCK 180

Celebrate 180 Years of the Royal Albert Dock

This July, the Royal Albert Dock officially turns 180! Since its grand opening by Prince Albert on July 30, 1846, our iconic waterfront has been the backdrop to Liverpool’s greatest moments, evolution, and everyday stories.

To mark nearly two centuries as the beating heart of the city, we are launching a spectacular summer-long celebration which will shine a light on the collective memories of the people who make the Dock such a special place to visit.

Explore how you can join the celebrations below:

Share Your Memories to be Part of the Celebrations

We are launching a city-wide search to find 180 public memories, from nostalgic family days out in the 80s to modern-day selfies at the Beatles Story, with the chance to have your image chosen to be featured on a Dock Shorts Projection against the facade of the Maritime Museum, and in a permanent digital memory book.

Submit your favourite photographs and stories and watch your memories come to life at our spectacular finale celebrations at the end of September.
