Summer Holiday Activities

When school’s out for summer, it’s time for fun with the whole family and the dock is a great place to make the most of those days together.

Whether it’s getting hands-on with activities, teaming up to take on a challenge, shopping for a treat or simply enjoying a meal by the waterfront, you’ll never run out of holiday inspiration.

Make at Tate Liverpool

Young artists can make their own masterpieces at Tate Liverpool’s summer workshops, inspired by the gallery’s Liverpool Biennial display. Activity sessions for all ages are on every day over the summer holidays until September 3, from 11am to 5pm in the creative space.

Beat the clock at Escape Hunt

Families can team up to take on a fun challenge against the clock at Escape Hunt. Find clues, solve puzzles and complete missions to claim victory in a choice of themed escape rooms. Keep your head in Alice in Puzzleland or flee a sinking galleon in Blackbeard’s Treasure.

Tasty trio at Rosa’s Thai

Tantalise your mini foodies’ tastebuds with a family feast at Rosa’s Thai. Known for its incredible authentic menu, it has a new Little Rosa’s kids menu that’s big on flavour, combining a starter, main and drink with speciality dishes, including homemade spring rolls and chicken rice.

Have a Fab4 day out

There’s no age limit to being a Beatles fan and everyone can come together in The Beatles Story’s Discovery Zone every weekend to learn about the Fab4, play a giant floor piano and put on a karaoke show singing songs on a replica Cavern Club stage.

Maritime Museum activities

With a line-up of free activities to keep children entertained, young visitors can discover how four-legged friends sniff out smuggled goods in Return of the Detector Dogs, play musical instruments from different countries on Billy’s Musical Voyage or tap out Morse Code.

Get crafty at The Nest

Little imaginations can run free at The Nest, where you’ll find a fantastic selection of locally made creative gifts at pocket money prices. You’ll find lots of cute ideas you won’t find anywhere else including papercraft animal kits and bracelet tins.

Enjoy a fairground attraction

We’re one of Liverpool’s most famous heritage sites and youngsters can have some traditional fairground fun and take a spin on the beautiful restored Victorian carousel that’s a stunning feature outside the Martin Luther King Jr Building.

American classics at What’s Cooking

What’s Cooking is a long-standing dock favourite for American classics like hand-crafted burgers, hotdogs and ribs, plus it’s got smaller diners all catered for with a dedicated kids menu. Under 12s can choose from mains including cheeseburgers or veggie burgers or BBQ chicken wings with juice.

Sweet-tastic Quay Confectionary

Quay Confectionary is a multi-flavoured paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth and a must-go for summer holiday treats. It’s filled with an amazing array of sweets from jelly beans to American candy or you can take your pick from more than 30 different flavours of fudge.
