The Times name Maray as one of the UK’s best places to eat by the water

One of the dock’s beloved independent restaurants has been named among the UK’s best places to eat by the water.

In its quest to find the perfect spot for an al fresco lunch with a stunning waterfront view, The Times created a list of the 31 best riverside restaurants and pubs – and Maray has made it on.

Maray impressed reviewers with its gorgeous location on the colonnades, looking out across the dock and towards the Three Graces, as well as an outdoor seating option.

Andy Lynes, from The Times, recommended: “For a spot of Middle Eastern-inspired dockside dining, head to this buzzy glass-fronted restaurant overlooking the water and boats of Liverpool’s Albert Dock.

“Let the spicy flavours of ‘disco cauliflower’ made with chermoula and harissa hot sauces dance on your tongue, then calm things down with a Moloko cocktail made with pomegranate, rum, lime and mint.”

James Bates, MD for Maray, said they were delighted to be included on the prestigious list.

He added: “Our dockside restaurant really comes into its own in the summer months and we’ve recently invested in new outdoor seating and added some summery dishes to our menu, so we’re ready for the warmer months.”
