Paul Askew’s street food venture, Barnacle, joins the dock family

Royal Albert Dock is expanding its vibrant dining scene with the addition of Paul Askew’s new street food container, Barnacle.

Previously based in Duke Street Market, this exciting culinary venture further enhances the dock’s creative grab-and-go options at the heart of Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.

Serving up a curated menu from an eye-catching electric blue shipping container on Gower Street, Barnacle offers a mix of beloved favourites and exciting new additions.

Each dish is crafted with locally sourced ingredients, with highlights including the Luxury Smash Burger – a Cheshire venison and pork patty topped with lettuce, red onion jam, cheese, and pickles -and Shrimp on Toast, featuring Southport potted shrimp on sourdough with Wirral watercress.

The indulgent Chicken and Caviar is set to become Barnacle’s signature dish. A succulent fried chicken breast, coated in Barnacle’s signature spiced buttermilk, is served with fresh lemon and a tarragon dipping sauce, with the option to add crème fraîche and a luxurious caviar topping.

Barnacle is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10:30am-8pm. You can view the full menu here.
