Join The Beatles Story to celebrate Ringo Starr’s 86th birthday with a global message of Peace and Love

Fans of The Beatles are invited to gather at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool this July as The Beatles Story celebrates Ringo Starr’s 86th birthday and helps share his enduring message of Peace and Love with the world.

Taking place outside The Beatles Story museum entrance on Tuesday 7 July, the free event will bring together visitors and locals for a special moment of unity as part of a worldwide tradition led by Ringo himself.

Since 2008, Ringo has encouraged people across the globe to pause at 12 noon local time on his birthday to say, think or post the words “Peace and Love”. What began as a simple gesture has grown into an international movement, with fans around the world taking part each year to spread positivity, kindness and hope.

Attendees are invited to gather from 11.45am outside The Beatles Story, where a special “Peace and Love” moment will be filmed and shared on Ringo’s official Facebook page as part of the global celebrations.

Adding to the occasion, The Beatles Story’s official Ringo Starr Peace and Love Sculpture will once again be on display outside the museum entrance. Created using an original casting of Ringo’s right hand, the sculpture serves as a powerful symbol of his long-standing commitment to promoting peace and positivity.

Handcrafted by skilled artisans, the limited-edition sculpture forms part of an exclusive initiative from the Ringo Starr organisation, with only a select number displayed at cultural institutions around the world. The Beatles Story is proud to be home to the UK’s only Ringo Starr Peace and Love Sculpture.

The event will also help raise awareness of The Lotus Foundation, the charitable organisation established by Ringo Starr and his wife Barbara. The foundation supports a range of causes close to their hearts, including organisations that assist survivors of domestic violence, cancer patients and animals in need.

Mary Chadwick, General Manager of The Beatles Story, said: “The Beatles’ birthdays are always a special moment for us in Liverpool, and we’re honoured to bring people together once again at The Beatles Story to support Ringo’s official birthday initiative and help raise awareness of The Lotus Foundation. The ‘Peace and Love’ message continues to resonate with fans of all ages, and each year we see how powerful that shared moment can be. It’s a wonderful opportunity for visitors and locals alike to connect, reflect and be part of something global, right here on the Royal Albert Dock.”

The celebration forms part of The Beatles Story’s packed summer programme. Visitors can also take advantage of discounted Summer Saver tickets, available until 1 September, as well as free family craft workshops in the Discovery Zone throughout the school holidays.

Those wishing to take part in the Peace and Love celebration can register their attendance in advance via The Beatles Story website here.
