The Overlanding Ambulance attempts Guinness World Record from the dock

Two local vets are embarking on an ambitious journey from Royal Albert Dock Liverpool all the way to Uruguay in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for ‘Longest Journey in an Ambulance’, whilst raising money for the Anthony Nolan and Vetlife charities.

On Saturday 2nd October, Rachel Nixon and Lawrence Dodi (along with their pooch, Peggy) are travelling from Royal Albert Dock to Liverpool FC in Montevideo, Uruguay on a journey which will take over two years, see them travel more than 100,000 kilometres, through 60+ countries and across five continents in a Land Rover Defender Ambulance.

The veterinary surgeons are undertaking the adventure at their own expense to raise money for the two charities close to their hearts, and have chosen to set off from the dock as they have a close association with it, having had a boat moored here for the past few years.

We wish them the best of luck on their adventure!
