Royal Albert Dock partners with local heroes for ‘One Great Day’

On Saturday 30th September, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool is partnering with blue light service departments across Merseyside to host a ‘fun-tastic’ event in honour of the national charity campaign, One Great Day.

Between 11am-4pm, visitors to the dock will find a variety of activities from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, Merseyside Police and HM Coastguard located in front of the Martin Luther King Jr. Building and along Hartley Quay.

From vehicles ready and waiting to let little ones experience sitting at the wheel and live water rescue demonstrations in Salthouse Quay, to unique opportunities to chat with local heroes learning about their roles, all proceeds will go to the One Great Day campaign, which supports Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Those looking to make a day of their trip to the waterfront can also explore exhibitions in world-class attractions, including Tate Liverpool, Maritime Museum and The Beatles Story, or take home a keepsake from a range of shops.

Plus, experience culinary cuisines perfect for a lunchtime lightbite or evening meal with Spanish tapas at Lunyalita, hearty favourites at The Smugglers Cove, small plates at Maray and more. Families from blue light service departments can also enjoy discounts and extras at venues, including Gusto, PANAM, The Pumphouse and Peaberry Coffeehouse & Kitchen.

Sean Morrison, estate manager at Royal Abert Dock, comments: “It’s an honour to partner with our local heroes to create ‘One Great Day’. The event not only provides the chance to express gratitude and learn more about each of the department’s vital work, but it also raises funds for a great cause.”
