Liverpool’s iconic waterfront illuminated for River of Light

Liverpool’s iconic waterfront illuminated for River of Light

This autumn, Liverpool’s waterfront will be home to outdoor art gallery, River of Light after its success back in March, which saw 120,000 enjoy the spectacular trail. Running for three weeks (22 Oct – 7 Nov), 12 installations with the theme ‘Rhythm of Light’ will be placed along the waterfront, including at Royal Albert Dock. With each artwork inspired by Liverpool’s musical heritage, the majority of sights will have an accompanying soundtrack.

The Royal Albert Dock will be home to Iconic Site, created by Sans Façon, the collaborative practice of artist duo Charles Blanc and Tristan Surtees. Iconic Site was formed in response to the situation of many cities, where waves of new development change the face of our urban environment, often replacing the character of a place with buzz words and catch sentences.

To celebrate the event, independent distiller Turncoat will be offering guests a range of treats. These include Bold St. Chai Gin Hot Toddy’s and VoltGabban calzones, with outside seating every Friday and Saturday (5pm-9pm) until Nov 7, letting you make the most of the installations while keeping warm.
