Beating the likes of London, Brighton and Manchester, Liverpool has been awarded the top spot in a guide by Time Out that rates the best cities in the UK for food.
In a survey of thousands of city-dwellers, 84% stated Liverpool’s restaurant scene is the most delicious, with 68% agreeing that dishes are more affordable than in other major cities.
Among the city’s culinary stars are dockside restaurants, Maray and Madre. The two venues earned a spot on Time Out’s list of Liverpool’s top eateries last year.
Maray, which serves up Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates, was praised for its standout veggie dishes with Madre celebrated for its range of tacos and zesty margaritas.
