We’ve also rounded up our best bits, so you’re full of ideas for a Mother’s Day to remember
If you don’t want to leave winning our competition to chance, head to Turncoat’s cosy new cellar bar for gin tasting. You’ll get to try all five of its core gins, with nibbles and either a gin and tonic or cocktail to savour at the end. You can book your tour by phone on 0151 709 8837. Or, if you’re looking for a slice of Turncoat to take home with you, we can’t recommend its Albert Dock Gin highly enough!

It’s no surprise that the team over at Madre love mothers – the name means ‘mother’ in Spanish. Head to this mouthwatering Mexican and madres eat for free when you book a table for Sunday 22 March. T&Cs apply.
Leather Satchel Company has a rainbow of beautiful leather goodies and we always find it hard to pick a favourite. But we’re especially keen on this bull ring bag in English mustard right now. A modern take on a classic design, it was designed and created using traditional British handcrafting leather techniques right here in the Dock-based workshop. A secure long flap and spacious interior make it an excellent daily choice.

Looking for something to do after lunch? Tate Liverpool’s exhibition of the moment features Theaster Gates – the first major UK exhibition of American artist. His work interweaves issues of race, territory and inequality in the United States through sculpture, installation, film and dance. His musical collective, The Black Monks, provide the score for a new film, with their blues and gospel-inspired sound heard throughout the exhibition.
