Dockside restaurant Maray have become the first North West Independent to be awarded a two star SRA rating since lockdown.
The SRA, which stands for Sustainable Restaurant Association, exists to accelerate positive environmental change throughout the hospitality sector. Its subsequent rating system covers three key areas, including sourcing, society and environment: covering the sourcing of ingredients, how the team and community are treated and finally, the carbon footprint created.
Since opening in 2018, Maray has strived to become a carbon net zero restaurant. The restaurant’s commitment to supporting local farmers, servicing more vegetarian/vegan and contribution to the local and national community have contributed towards unlocking the milestone, a great step forward in Maray’s environmentally-friendly journey.
