Half term hotspots for family fun
Check out our guide to keeping your kids entertained this half term.
At the dock we have lots to do for families all year round, and this half term you’ll find a few special interactive activities to get them interested and excited.
Here are six things to do with kids this October…

Free Circus Skills sessions
Youngsters can run away to Anchor Courtyard and join the circus – or at least pick up some fun circus skills with free instruction from experts. Across five days of the half term break, children aged 6 to 14 will be able to try their hands at plate spinning, juggling, ribbon dancing, learn to master the ‘levistick’ floating cane, and experience the thrills of aerial hoop and trapeze, hammock and silks.
For more information and to book a session, please visit:
Aerial Hoop - 10:00am
Trapeze - 10:00am
Circus Skills 11:30pm
Aerial Silks - 1:00pm
Aerial Hammock - 1:00pm
Circus Skills 2:30pm

Family adventure trail
Children love collecting evidence of what they’ve seen and been up to, so don’t forget to join the Family Adventure Trail by picking up a copy at Holiday Inn Express, Tate Liverpool, Maritime Museum or The Nest. Walk to nine different numbered attractions, find clues to answer questions and once they’ve completed the trail just head to the Beatles Story shop or Magical Mystery Tour office for a badge/sticker.

Kids make their own pizzas at Gusto
Budding chefs who like to get experimental in the kitchen will love creating their own pizza, loaded with their favourite toppings, at Italian restaurant Gusto. They can pick out flavour combinations from Gusto’s choice of toppings, like chicken, mushrooms, sweetcorn and pepperoni, then arrange them in a design and hand them back to the real chefs to pop in the oven.

Escape Hunt - Fourth Samurai game
Escape Hunt is a great option for a family day out, especially for teens who can be harder to please. There are different immersive experiences to choose from – how about The Fourth Samurai which is an original Escape Hunt game taking you back to ancient Japan? On the orders of the imperial emperor, work as a team and use your skills to defeat the evil warlord!

Wild Shore
Grab a little outdoor adventure while you can, and have a splashing time by taking to the water at Wild Shore. Kids can test their balance with stand-up paddleboarding or take a trip around the dock on one of the pedalos or mini boats. Or, for a real on-the-water challenge, go up against the family on the Aqua Park inflatable obstacle course. Be quick though, it’s only here until October 31.

River of Light Trail
The spectacular River of Light trail is coming back from October 22 to November 7, this time featuring a series of light installations inspired by Liverpool’s musical history. The dock is on this year’s trail with Iconic Site alongside other works on the waterfront and city centre so it’s an event not to miss for all the family.
